Biography

Since he has been a full professor at Stanford Medical School for some time and is connected to a number of initiatives, including the Stanford Cancer Research Institute, Dr. Matin has chosen to retire on July 1, 21. His significant research accomplishments include the development of novel medications, therapeutic enzymes, and their enhancement as well as their targeted treatment of cancer (and other diseases). Prior to moving to Stanford, he completed his doctoral work at UCLA and then spent some time at the State University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where he oversaw a research team. He has received many accolades and prizes.
